Pete Drummond's introduction:
Hello and welcome to Rock Goes To College!
This week we are down at that great seat of learning, Reading University, among a very lively crowd. And that’s gotta see a VNUS as always.
This week, as you have probably recognized from that number May You Never, we have John Martyn, who is one of this country’s finest singer-songwriters – and guitarists.
We’re gonna to continue now, well John is going to continue now, with a song which is the title track from his current album, the album released about a year ago. John will currently be on tour, in the months of November and December, and he say going to record another album, so we look forward to that.
In the mean time, this is the title track of his current album, One World.
Certain Surprise was included in BBC In Vision 1973-1981.
The whole set features on the John Martyn At The BBC DVD from 2006.
The show was rebroadcast on BBC2, Saturday 12 October 2024.
