JOHN MARTYN is really Iain McGeachy,1 from Langside, Glasgow, and if he is not yet blowing up a storm on the musical scene, he is certainly bringing one with him.
With an LP called Stormbringer, in which he and his wife Beverley (both 21) duet with his and her songs on an album that has everyone in the folkish pop world raving.
Even their publicists have run out of superlatives. Any advance on sensational?
1 Actually they printed 'John Martyne' and 'Ian'.
This short sort of review was printed in the Daily Record of Friday 13th February 1970 on the so-called Pop Page, which was curated by Donald Bruce. Strangely enough the image was mirrored.
Material provided by John Neil Munro.
