Many consider this to be John's finest album; it surely is one of his most famous ones. Recorded in 1972, it contains five or six classic songs that still feature in concerts today.

Recorded at Island [Basing Street Studios] and Sound Techniques Studios [Chelsea], November/ December 1972.

Heavy HQ but somewhat suspicious vinyl release 30 August 1999.
First CD release February 1987, included in Island Twinsets 1992 together with One World.
Remastered CD released 23 October 2000. Digital mastering Simon Heyworth.
Remastered and expanded released 25 May 2009 on double CD (Solid Air De Luxe). Digital mastering was done this time by Paschal Byrne.
