Many consider this to be John's finest album; it surely is one of his most famous ones. Recorded in 1972, it contains five or six songs both classic and timeless.

Recorded at Island [Basing Street Studios] and Sound Techniques Studios [Chelsea], November/ December 1972.

Heavy HQ Simply Vinyl release 30 August 1999.
October 2010 brought a new Simply Vinyl release (500 copies).
2013 saw a UK 'Back To Black' series remastered reissue on 180gm vinyl, with an MP3 download code.
In 2016 we even got a translucent green vinyl version (500 copies).
And HMV saw it fit to release a translucent blue copy in 2018.

First CD release February 1987, included in Island Twinsets 1992 together with One World.
Remastered CD released 23 October 2000. Digital mastering Simon Heyworth.
Remastered and expanded released 25 May 2009 on double CD (Solid Air De Luxe). Digital mastering was done this time by Paschal Byrne.
