I found one reference to a BBC session for Top Gear that is supposed to have taken place 4 April 1970 but I haven't been able to confirm that yet.

This is a rare and early version of The Easy Blues as it would not surface on record until four years later, on Solid Air.

Country Meets Folk

BBC Radio 1
9 Dec 1968

John appeared on this program several times but it is unclear in what capacity. No tapes have been preserved. The apparent concept of this show is rather similar to that behind the Transatlantic Sessions from the nineties.

Country Meets Folk was an old Light Programme show and first aired in July 1967. It was a replacement for the half hour A Cellar Full Of Folk.
Both programmes were produced by Ian Grant. Host was Wally Whyton, assisted by Jim Lloyd who presented the folk and country news.
