The whole affair actually began, to my sudden surprise, at 7:30 pm Sunday when John Martyn stepped on stage.

Inside Out (Island) is another of John Martyn's oddly beautiful excursions. He mumbles and the music is full of electronic whoops, but it all works. Musicians like Steve Winwood and Danny Thompson work on this album. The old standard The Glory Of Love never sounded so weird - or so good.

Cash Box was a US based weekly magazine for the music industry trade publishing record charts. This two page advert preluded to John touring the US during the winter. The same material was re-used in black and white, as inner sleeve of the Jook Joint sampler.
