Webmaster's blog

Welcome to Web 2.0

As you have noticed Big Muff has changed considerably. During the past four months I have converted the old website to this new database driven platform. I don't know (yet) whether the server can manage the number of request that 50 100 200 300 500 600 daily visitors impose, so this is also sort of a test run.

Quotes From Down Under

Recently I got my hands on one of the few Australian interviews John has given. It is published in a music magazine called Roadrunner with the streetdate 1 August 1978.
John looks back on his American tour and his work with Neil Ardley. He expects Beverley to get a hit single soon. And he prefers black audiences to white ones.

Interesting Old Stuff...

Herman Gilligan was kind enough to send me a story from 1971: John Martyn Keeping Everything A Lot Less Rigid. It proves an interesting read from the Bless The Weather period. As it turns out, John had just finished writing May You Never, but he did not have a title for it yet. The working title was 'Close Brother', which is news to me.

Remastered and Expanded

This site is still under construction but has gained critical mass. All the stories and record pages found here haven been imported from html pages published earlier on Big Muff and then been revised. Many items and songs have been added. Release dates have been checked and often became more specific. In the process I also discovered new background information.
