Rope-souled, walking away.
Tie or tightened, bind your feet.
Rope-souled, walking away.
Rope-souled;
Tie or tightened, bind your feet.
Get it right and make it feel.

Sand in the shore...

They suck up cold and surface snow for any day.
Watch them travel the Aveyron.
Ball walking; slow talking.
Tie or tightened, bind your feet;
Get it right and make it.
Ball walking; walking away.
Rope-souled and locked.

Slipping and slipping, and slipping away.
Strip it down and listen, listen...
Slipping and slipping...

Rope-souled, walking away.
Rope-souled, walking away.
Rope-souled, walking away....

sitenote:
Interesting rhythm, enigmatic lyrics. Possibly about someone who is walking on a beach and has difficulty untying himself from a relationship. ('Rope-soul'd' then is supposed to mean something like souls being tangled.) But apparently the song is just about beach shoes...
On the other hand, John said to a German magazine that this is a bar-song, one to sing when one has the blues and cries over one's beer.
