John Martyn continues to flex his muscles in his Well Kept Secret (Duke 90021-1), a new collection of tunes from this excellent songsmith.
Famous for years as half of the English folk rock duo of John and Beverley Martyn, he went solo several years ago and changed direction toward mainstream rock. His solid composing and seasoned, earthy voice make compelling listening, as one play of this album reveals without hesitation.
He gives us 10 new tunes. sparked by the opening Could've Been Me.
